Professor Hofstadter, is that you?

Sometimes I share inspiring words and think very seriously on super important topics. Sometimes I share ridiculous humor and think way too seriously on silly pop culture.

Wait I'm confused, is there not a hot Githyanki lady in the game? Is there not a hot Tiefling lady? Like what do these guys want exactly?
There are indeed those characters (The Tiefling companion is hot both literally and metaphorically). Also a hot Half-elf lady, and I think the option to get a hot evil drow lady if you choose the evil options for some of the quests. And that's just companions not counting any other NPCs you encounter.
(there are also plenty of sexy dudes for those whose inclinations lean that way.)
Now granted I think that complaint was made back during the early access but I'm sure the real issue is the original whiny coward has a very narrow view about what makes a woman hot.
There's just no pleasing some people.
I’ve got a theory about this guy, I put him in the same bucket as the guy who got mad that Aloy had visible hair growing on her face in Horizon Forbidden West, and countless other infamous comments.
I don’t think these guys are, like, deeply emotionally invested in another Sexy Digital Woman, such that they get outraged when a property fails to deliver a sufficiently Sexy Digital Woman. It’s not ABOUT The Sexy Digital Women.
There was at one point a general acknowledgement that Nerd Culture was overwhelmingly designed to cater to heterosexual male fantasy, and that this was a bad thing.
A lot of Guys On The Internet got mad about this, for a variety of reasons that have been discussed elsewhere, and this has poisoned them going forwards. They see some sort of imagined conflict, “True” Nerddom, vs, I dunno, Woke Feminists Trying To Ruin Everybody’s Fun.
What they get Big Mad about is when some property they like tones down the cheesecake a little, or give female characters any trait that serves a purpose besides making the character look more attractive, because by doing so the creators have taken a side in this conflict.
A game could feature an Impossibly Sexy Woman, and these guys would get mad because she’s wearing 10% more clothing than she was in the preview footage.
This guy isn’t mad that none of the BG3 female characters are hot enough, he’s mad that none of them clearly indicate that the studio agrees with him on the presentation of female characters in games. He’s not just looking for a Hot Woman, he’s looking for a woman that could only be created by a developer who feels that the primary function of female characters should be sex appeal to a heterosexual male audience. He’s looking for a sign that this game was made by “His people”.
The prime example is recently. LabZero, makers of Skullgirls, decided to edit the sprites for one of their characters, a teenager, such that her attack animations no longer showed her underwear.
This made Guys On The Internet Big Mad. Not because they previously drew great joy from booting up a 10 year old game where they could see a few pixels of cartoon underwear when a teenager did a kick, but because by doing so LabZero had Taken a Side in this conflict.
The hashtag may be dead, but Goober Grape haunts us still.
The vast majority of America's debt collection targets $500-2,000 credit card debts. It is a filthy business, operated by lawless firms who hire unskilled workers drawn from the same economic background as their targets, who routinely and grotesquely flout the law, but only when it comes to the people with the least ability to pay.
America has fairly robust laws to protect debtors from sleazy debt-collection practices, notably the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which has been on the books since 1978. The FDCPA puts strict limits on the conduct of debt collectors, and offers real remedies to debtors when they are abused.
But for FDPCA provisions to be honored, they must be understood. The people who collect these debts are almost entirely untrained. The people they collected the debts from are likewise in the dark. The only specialized expertise debt-collection firms concern themselves with are a series of gotcha tricks and semi-automated legal shenanigans that let them take money they don't deserve from people who can't afford to pay it.
There's no better person to explain this dynamic than Patrick McKenzie, a finance and technology expert whose Bits About Money newsletter is absolutely essential reading. No one breaks down the internal operations of the finance sector like McKenzie. His latest edition, "Credit card debt collection," is a fantastic read:

Never consolidate student loans
Never admit to a debt over the phone or give any allusion to doing so, it will get recorded.. and then it will become your debt
Demand written itemized details of all debt
Reject anything weird on your credit report...every single year. All three. They have a limited amount of time to prove it's valid or they have to remove it... FOREVER.
